Important English language update considerations by NMC

Council to consider two important proposals

The Council will consider two very important proposals in its meeting scheduled for 28th September 2022. These proposals, if accepted, will be a big thumbs-up for international nurses dreaming to work in the UK.

What are the two, life-changing proposals put forward?

1) The clubbing score period may be changed from the current 6 months to 12 months. This means nurses can now write and club their best scores, in one year. So they get more time to prepare and give their next best try for OET or IELTS.

2) Employer will be able to give supporting evidence of language proficiency.

Having said this, let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

  4. Hello,

I found this blog post addressing the NMC's considerations for English language updates to be incredibly relevant, especially from the perspective of study abroad consultancy. Ensuring that students possess the necessary language skills is paramount for their success in academic endeavors abroad.

Study abroad consultancies play a pivotal role in guiding students through the complex process of applying to universities and colleges in English-speaking countries. These updates by the NMC will significantly impact our work and the prospects of our clients.

Firstly, I appreciate the NMC's commitment to standardized testing. It aligns with our consultancy's goal of providing students with clear guidelines on the language proficiency requirements of their chosen institutions. This ensures that applicants are adequately prepared, reducing the risk of rejection based on language barriers.

Moreover, the focus on developing resources and training programs is especially encouraging. It will not only benefit aspiring students but also assist us as consultants in better preparing our clients. Having access to these resources will enhance our ability to offer comprehensive support and guidance throughout the application process.

In an increasingly competitive global education landscape, English proficiency has become a key differentiator. The NMC's considerations are timely and in line with the international standards expected by universities and colleges. This will undoubtedly improve the chances of our students getting accepted into their preferred institutions.

In conclusion, I'm grateful to see that the NMC is taking proactive steps to address English language proficiency, as it directly impacts our work in study abroad consultancy. These considerations will not only benefit our clients but also contribute to a more streamlined and effective approach to international education opportunities.

    Best regards,
